🚶 On foot
The area around Hillsborough Street and NC State's campus is genuinely walkable. Within about a mile, you've got most of what you need day-to-day.
🚌 GoRaleigh bus
Free for NC State students with a valid ID. Routes cover most of the university area and connect to downtown. Reliable for campus trips, slower for anything further.
🚲 Cycling
Raleigh has improved its bike infrastructure significantly. Greenways are great on weekends. Traffic on main roads is manageable but requires confidence.
🚗 Car
Needed for anything in the suburbs, big grocery runs, and getting to Durham or Chapel Hill easily. Parking costs vary — factor this in before signing a lease.
